Corndale Farm

Alistair Crown was the first person to produce charcuterie in Northern Ireland using the pork from his herd of free-range Saddleback pigs. Corndale Farm includes award winning chorizo and salamis, nduja and air-dried meats, as well as hog roasts. The company was named Gold and Silver winners of the Irish Food Awards in 2017.

Corndale Farm is based in Limavady – a stone’s throw away from Nuprint, and in 2021 we were approached by Alistair to support labels for their existing cold meats range. For nearly 40 years we’ve worked with food companies to create high-quality, durable labelling, so we were well placed to help deliver this.

The main requirement of this job was to ensure we could produce labels that would match the existing design, that would meet the production timelines and be compliant within the food space. Nuprint is one of the few label manufacturers in the UK and Ireland providing direct food contact packaging. We have BRCGS AA High Hygiene Certification and have a fully accredited facility. We are also approved by Deutsche Pfandsystem GmbH to print security ink-marked sleeves that support recycling.

Working directly with Alistair we used our extensive experience in this area to produce fit for purpose labelling within the allocated time frames. The labels had to be identical to what was already in the market but did require new text. This in itself presented a challenge in that we had to match exactly what was on shelf – there was no room for any margin of error or slight discrepancy. We had a fast-turnaround time which was dictated by the retailers, and furthermore we had to deliver to a high quality label that would meet the customer’s expectation.

We decided digital labels and our HP Digital Press would be the best method to produce what Corndale Farm required. Digital printing allowed for precise printing in a quick turnaround time with excellent colour consistency – thus meeting the brief perfectly.

We delivered this initial order within the time frame and to a high standard which has led to our continued work with Corndale Farm. The company continues to go from strength to strength, and we are thrilled to be part of their journey
